Free weights, bars and strength equipment since 1987
Troy Barbell has been making free weights in Houston since 1987 and holds more than 35 patents in the category. The range runs under three labels — Troy for commercial and institutional, VTX for functional and specialty training, and USA for home.
That is the simplest way to understand the line-up: one company, three price points and three build standards. Buying the wrong one for the traffic is the most common mistake.
Troy’s reputation rests on a handful of designs that the rest of the category copied.
Troy’s first significant design and still the one it is known for: an Olympic plate you can grip three ways, with an interlocking edge so plates stack without walking on the sleeve.
A twelve-sided anti-roll head. It sounds like a detail until you have watched a round dumbbell roll across a gym floor and into a machine.
Troy for commercial and institutional, VTX for functional and vertical training, USA for home. A home bar in a commercial gym wears out fast, and a commercial bar in a garage is money you did not need to spend.
Olympic bars, bumper plates, rubber and urethane plates, and the storage to hold them. If you are kitting out a rack, the bar and plate choice matters more than the rack brand.
Not standing stock. We do not keep this brand on the floor as inventory, so there is no price tag to read. Tell us what you are looking for and we will confirm availability, current pricing and lead time — and say plainly if a brand we do stock covers the same job for less.
The honest answer for most home gyms is the USA line; the honest answer for a commercial floor is Troy. VTX sits between them for functional and group training. Tell us the traffic and the budget and we will tell you which line, rather than quoting the most expensive one.
We have supplied and serviced fitness equipment in New England for over 35 years. Free weights are simple enough that buyers assume there is nothing to get wrong, and then a set of plates arrives with the wrong sleeve diameter for the bar.
We will spec the bar, the plates and the storage as one package so that does not happen, and deliver it.

We are a New England fitness equipment dealer based in Manchester, New Hampshire. We supply home gyms, commercial facilities, hotels, schools and physical therapy clinics across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut — and we service every brand we sell.
Because we both sell and service the equipment, the advice you get is not shaped by what happens to be in stock. If a machine is wrong for your space, your traffic or your budget, we will say so.
Tell us the room, the traffic and the budget and we will tell you what actually fits — including when the honest answer is that you do not need to spend as much as you think. Call, email, or request a quote and we will come back to you.
