TKO started in Houston in 1996 as a boxing and combat sports brand — the name is a knockout, not an abbreviation. It moved into free weights in 2001, racks in 2002, group training in 2003 and benches in 2006, and has been a full commercial strength supplier since 2009.
Today the line is what a gym floor is built from: dumbbells, plates, bars, racks and benches.
Four parts of the range come up again and again on commercial floors.
The urethane line runs from 5 to 120 lb with a five-year commercial warranty. Urethane rather than rubber because it does not absorb sweat or chalk, and it does not mark the floor the way old rubber does.
Racks, storage and functional rigs. On a commercial floor storage is not an accessory: it is what stops the dumbbells living on the floor and getting kicked across the room.
TKO moved into group training early, which is why the range includes studio and functional pieces alongside the free-weight line rather than only plates and bars.
Full commercial since 2009 means the line is specified for facilities rather than garages. The same pieces work in a home gym — you are simply buying more durability than a household needs.
Not standing stock. We do not keep this brand on the floor as inventory, so there is no price tag to read. Tell us what you are looking for and we will confirm availability, current pricing and lead time — and say plainly if a brand we do stock covers the same job for less.
A free-weight floor is a package: dumbbells, a rack that actually holds them, plates, bars, benches and the flooring underneath. Buying it piece by piece is how gyms end up with a rack that does not fit the dumbbell set. Tell us the space and the training you want to run and we will quote the package.
We have supplied and serviced fitness equipment in New England for over 35 years. Free weights are the lowest-tech thing on the floor and the most abused: dropped, dragged, chalked and never cleaned. Urethane, welds and rack gauge are what decide whether the set still looks right in five years.
We also deliver and install, which for a dumbbell set means somebody has to carry it. That is part of the quote, not a surprise.
