Heart rate sensors, straps and team training systems
Polar is the company that put wearable heart rate on the map, and it still supplies the sensors, straps and team systems behind a lot of what gyms display on their screens. This is not cardio equipment — it is the measurement layer that makes cardio equipment useful.
Who is working at what intensity, and whether the class is actually in the zone it claims to be. That is the whole job.
Heart rate hardware is usually bought for one of four reasons. Which one you have decides what you need.
Chest straps and optical sensors that feed a console, a group display or a phone. The strap is the part that decides whether the number on the screen is real, which is why it is not the place to save money.
Systems that put every participant’s heart rate on one screen. That is what makes an interval class teachable: the instructor can see who is in the zone without walking the room.
Polar sensors work with a wide range of gym consoles and third-party apps, but not all of them and not all in the same way. Check the console you already own before buying a room full of straps.
Shared straps need a cleaning and charging routine. Budget for it, because a dead strap reads as a broken system to a member, and the equipment gets blamed rather than the battery.
Not standing stock. We do not keep this brand on the floor as inventory, so there is no price tag to read. Tell us what you are looking for and we will confirm availability, current pricing and lead time — and say plainly if a brand we do stock covers the same job for less.
If your cardio machines already have integrated heart rate and nobody looks at it, you probably do not. If you run group intervals, test members, or sell small-group training, the display is the product and the sensors are what make it credible.
We have supplied and serviced fitness equipment in New England for over 35 years. Heart rate systems fail in unglamorous ways — batteries, straps, pairing, firmware — and the useful question is who fixes that.
We will also tell you when you do not need the system at all. Buying a room of sensors for a floor that never runs a heart-rate class is a common and expensive mistake.

We are a New England fitness equipment dealer based in Manchester, New Hampshire. We supply home gyms, commercial facilities, hotels, schools and physical therapy clinics across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut — and we service every brand we sell.
Because we both sell and service the equipment, the advice you get is not shaped by what happens to be in stock. If a machine is wrong for your space, your traffic or your budget, we will say so.
Tell us the room, the traffic and the budget and we will tell you what actually fits — including when the honest answer is that you do not need to spend as much as you think. Call, email, or request a quote and we will come back to you.
