FluidRower water rowers for home and commercial gyms
First Degree Fitness builds the FluidRower, a rower that uses water in a tank rather than air or magnetic resistance. The resistance comes from a patented twin-tank design, so the drag is set mechanically by turning a dial and adding or removing water — the feel stays consistent through the stroke in a way air rowers do not.
The range spans wood, aluminium and steel frames and runs from home models through commercial machines, plus an upper-body ergometer for arm and shoulder work.
A water rower is not an air rower with a nicer finish. Four things change, and they are what you are paying for.
The twin tank lets you set resistance mechanically rather than by how hard you pull. That means a beginner and a strong rower can use the same machine in the same session without swapping equipment or resetting a damper.
Water resistance loads the drive progressively rather than grabbing at the catch. Rowers who have been in a boat tend to prefer it; rowers training for a specific air-rower test sometimes do not. That is a preference, not a quality difference.
The range covers wood, aluminium and steel. Mostly this is about where the rower lives: wood for a home or a studio, aluminium and steel for a shared floor that gets cleaned, moved and used all day.
From the home models (Newport, Viking) through the commercial E-series, plus the UBE upper-body ergometer. Which one you want is decided by traffic and service access, not by the price list.
Not standing stock. We do not keep this brand on the floor as inventory, so there is no price tag to read. Tell us what you are looking for and we will confirm availability, current pricing and lead time — and say plainly if a brand we do stock covers the same job for less.
A water rower needs the tank treated and the water changed on a schedule. It is the one maintenance task owners forget, and a neglected tank is the usual reason a water rower gets retired early. If you are buying for a facility, ask us about the service interval before you commit.
We have supplied and serviced fitness equipment in New England for over 35 years, and we service every brand we sell. With a water rower that matters more than usual: the tank, the seals and the drive belt are all serviceable parts, and the machine is only worth buying if someone can actually service it.
We will also tell you when an air rower is the better buy. If your members are training for a standard 2,000 m test, the resistance curve they expect is not a water tank.

We are a New England fitness equipment dealer based in Manchester, New Hampshire. We supply home gyms, commercial facilities, hotels, schools and physical therapy clinics across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut — and we service every brand we sell.
Because we both sell and service the equipment, the advice you get is not shaped by what happens to be in stock. If a machine is wrong for your space, your traffic or your budget, we will say so.
Tell us the room, the traffic and the budget and we will tell you what actually fits — including when the honest answer is that you do not need to spend as much as you think. Call, email, or request a quote and we will come back to you.
