Self-spotting benches built in the USA
Wilder builds one thing well: a bench that lets you press heavy without a training partner. The integrated spotting mechanism assists the bar back to the rack when you need it, so a failed rep does not become a pinned rep.
We stock the Self Spotting Bench at $1,895, which is $600 off the regular price. For a home gym it is often the difference between training alone safely and not training at all.
Everything about this bench follows from one problem: the bench press is the lift most likely to trap you under the bar, and it is the lift people do alone.
The mechanism assists the bar back to the rack rather than dropping it. You fail a rep and rack it, instead of rolling the bar down your body or waiting for someone to notice.
That is the whole design brief, and it is why the bench exists in the first place.
A 2″ x 3″ 11-gauge powder-coated steel mainframe, built in the USA. That is commercial tubing in a machine that usually ends up in a home gym, which is the correct order for anything that holds a loaded bar over your chest.
Rubber feet and a stable base — a bench that moves is a bench you cannot trust on a heavy set.
100% Naugahyde over premium-density foam. That combination is what survives daily commercial use rather than occasional home sessions — the cover resists tearing and the foam does not collapse into a trough where your shoulders sit.
Pads are the first thing to fail on any bench, and the hardest thing to replace well.
Other Wilder benches and stations are quoted to order. We list what we hold and quote what we do not.
If you have seen a specific model, send it over and we will confirm availability, price and lead time.
If you already own a rack with safety arms, you can bench alone inside it — that is the cheaper answer, and we will say so. The Wilder bench earns its price when you want to press outside a rack, when the rack is in use, or when the safety arms are set for squats and moving them for every bench set is the reason you stop benching.
The honest comparison is against a hospital visit. If the alternative is not pressing at all, the bench is cheap.
We have supplied and serviced fitness equipment in New England for over 35 years, and we service every brand we sell. On a bench with a mechanism, the mechanism is the part that needs servicing — and the part a dealer has to understand.
We deliver, install and service what we sell. Viewings are by appointment.

We are a New England fitness equipment dealer based in Manchester, New Hampshire. We supply home gyms, commercial facilities, hotels, schools and physical therapy clinics across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut — and we service every brand we sell.
Because we both sell and service the equipment, the advice you get is not shaped by what happens to be in stock. If a machine is wrong for your space, your traffic or your budget, we will say so.
Tell us the room, the traffic and the budget and we will tell you what actually fits — including when the honest answer is that you do not need to spend as much as you think. Call, email, or request a quote and we will come back to you.
