Rope trainers and adaptive-resistance strength machines
Rope trainers and adaptive-resistance strength machines
Marpo’s whole idea is resistance without plates. The VLT Compact and the VMX Multi-Mode are rope climbers driven by a Dynamic Magnetic Brake that adjusts as you pull; the MAGRACK takes the same adaptive-load approach into a 39″ x 39″ frame that replaces a rack and a cable machine.
Nothing to load, strip or store between sets, and nothing for a member to misload. That is what makes the line interesting to rehab clinics, performance facilities and any gym that has to run group training out of one floor.
Which one you want depends on ceiling height, floor area and whether the training is strength, conditioning or rehab. All three are quoted on request.
A free-standing rope climber at roughly 49″ L x 40″ W x 94″ H. The quick-release seat converts it to standing use and opens it up for wheelchair access, so one unit serves seated, kneeling and standing work.
Seven rope-speed settings, bidirectional rope, battery powered with no AC outlet required, and a 350 lb maximum user weight. Call for pricing and lead time.
The larger frame: 82″ L x 40″ W x 97″ H, with a sliding carriage on the boom that moves the rope from vertical to diagonal to horizontal. Change the height, the grip and the pull direction and you get push, pull, squat, lunge and rotation out of one machine.
Padded seat and leg platform for seated, kneeling and standing modes, seven rope speeds, battery power, 350 lb user weight. Call for pricing and lead time.
Adaptive Load Technology self-adjusts magnetic resistance from 10 lb to more than 300 lb, matching the user on every rep and allowing both positive and negative loading through the movement. No plates means nothing to load, strip or store.
At 39″ x 39″ it fits where a rack will not, and each unit works stand-alone, wall-mounted, or clustered into a multi-unit station for group training. Quick-release handles swing, rotate and pitch, so the path is free rather than fixed. Call for pricing and lead time.
Ceiling height is the constraint that decides this purchase. The VLT Compact stands about 94″ tall and the VMX about 97″, so a basement with a low joist line will not take either — that is what the MAGRACK is for, at 39″ x 39″ and no height requirement beyond standing room.
All three are battery powered, so there is no AC outlet to run and no cable across the floor. Maximum user weight on the rope trainers is 350 lb. Send us the room dimensions and we will tell you which unit fits before you commit.
Rope climbing loads the lats, grip, shoulders and trunk through a pulling pattern that is hard to replicate with a cable stack, and it does it with almost no technique requirement. Because the brake self-adjusts, a deconditioned patient and a trained athlete can use the same machine on the same day — which is why the line turns up in cardiac rehab and performance testing as well as in gyms.
The electronic display tracks distance, time, speed and calories, so conditioning work is measurable rather than subjective. Battery power means you can put the machine anywhere on the floor without running a circuit to it.
We have supplied and serviced fitness equipment in New England for over 35 years, and we service every brand we sell. Rope trainers are simple machines with one part that matters — the brake — and a dealer who can service it is worth more than a discount.
We deliver, install and service what we sell. Marpo pricing is quoted per order rather than listed, so tell us the models you are considering and the room they go in and we will come back with current pricing and lead time.

We are a New England fitness equipment dealer based in Manchester, New Hampshire. We supply home gyms, commercial facilities, hotels, schools and physical therapy clinics across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut — and we service every brand we sell.
Because we both sell and service the equipment, the advice you get is not shaped by what happens to be in stock. If a machine is wrong for your space, your traffic or your budget, we will say so.
Tell us the room, the traffic and the budget and we will tell you what actually fits — including when the honest answer is that you do not need to spend as much as you think. Call, email, or request a quote and we will come back to you.
