The SportsArt UB521M is a medical-grade upper body ergometer — an arm cycle built for rehabilitation and clinical use rather than general gym cardio. Therapists favour it because it can be used from a seated position, standing, or by someone in a wheelchair, which makes it workable for patients who cannot get onto a conventional bike or elliptical.
Upper body ergometry is standard in cardiac and pulmonary rehab, physiotherapy and occupational therapy: it loads the arms and shoulders through a controlled range of motion while the patient stays stable and supported.
